All of the NT writers were jewish (except mark?_) and considered themselves jewish.

when the NT says the "scriptures" it is referring to the OT.

Christians and Muslims both claim the Old Testament as part of their holy books.

and of course Jesus was a Jew and often quoted the old testament.
