I agree about fake positivity. But there has been some progress made. 100 years ago racism was seen as a good thing, and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who would not readily admit, even be proud, to wear the label racist.

Black folks had to have a book to let them know what restaurants they could go to, what hotels would accept them and so forth.

You could deny employment, housing, and a lot of things simply because of someone's "color"

So, it does bug me a little for black people now to say its worse than ever, still horribly racist, awful place....

There were people who fought and died for the right to ride a freaken bus for goodness sakes ...

isnt it an insult to those people .. even to MLK.. to act like there has been no progress made at all?

Did MLK die for nothing?

lets honor the civil rights workers instead of saying their work was meaningless because no progress has been made.

We need to fix police racism. That is what started the protests ... but we are arguing over whether this is a racist nation or not .. and the cops are still racist.
