I dont have an exit strategy. I write on Medium just to spout off on whatever I feel like writing. Its just a place to put my stuff. What I write is not popular so it wont make money.

But I get the idea.

For awhile I was performing historical characters. I felt like if I could be a featured performer at a nice festival, that would be a great thing.

About 2 years into it I did that. "Jesse Chisholm performed by James Jordan" was on the cover of their brochure, and on all signage. Also got paid like i was some professional.

I had reached my goal and felt like i was done.

So I quit. :)
