I live in a conservative state, and know a few trump supporters. They are nothing like that. For the most part they are decent people who are conservative.

This to me is the greatest weakness of the democratic party, and of liberals in general. You just cant believe anyone would dare think differently than you. You paint a picture that is nowhere near accurate and then demonize them based on your inaccurate picture.

If you dont think like a liberal you must be stupid, or brainwashed. It is this type of thinking that voters are rejecting. Sounds to me like you are doing the exact thing you are criticizing here.

I am no conservative by any means. But I just see this glaring weakness on the “left.” Until you understand that there are people with minds who might think differently than you — without being brainwashed ect, — you will continue to lose to people like trump. You will probably lose in 2020 for this reason alone.
