i was a reporter for 30 years. I actually loved following the story wherever it went and had no interest in pushing politics.

if you could tell my opinion, i felt the story had failed. I wanted for both sides to either love me or hate me .. not for one to be positive and one negative

I often would not even tell my wife what my opinion was on a story i was covering.

"Theres always more than one or two sides to a story" .. was my standard response to anyone who asked me what i thought.
