I think semantics plays a big role there.

Like your article said, the stories are what matters ... not so much if they are 100 percent accurate.

But it is a slippery slope.

There are some that use that idea as a means of attacking and discrediting the whole.

I would say error-free in regards to spiritual matters ... and "pretty much" true on history. The writers were not writing history books :)
