Im pretty practical in nature. It does not help you or your cause for me to feel guilty about what others have done. What matters is doing the right thing.

I have stood with black people, with individuals. Ive stood up to racism, told people that racist talk is not acceptable around me ... and youknow what, most of them listened. surprised me.

I worked for newspapers in racist areas where the only time a black person got mentioned was when he got sent to jail. I changed that culture in that town and told real stories about real people.

There is no point in white guilt, or any kind of guilt.

just do the right thing.
