Its far from decided in scholarly circles.

But the fact remains... these were ancient stories, passed down verbally for thousands of years before they were written down.

it is very unlikely that anyone made this up and wrote it own in one day or even month.

there are several possiblitiesl

and you have no proof for who copied who

and it is suspicious that ONLY hebrew or christians are ever accused of copying .. why is that? are christians pathological liars?

There are enough differences in the stories, and the context is different enough ... the stories are not as much alike as you claim, even though there are some similarities

it is possible that all of t hem came from an ancient event that really happened.

but in scholarly circles the matter is far from settled.
