The third day of driving and getting a bit of rest

We arrived at our campsite in Moab, Utah, a little before dark. Skies were grey and a light drizzle was falling. We had very light rain most of the day, but not enough to cause any problems.

We came north out of Albuquerque and into the southwest corner of Colorado before getting into Utah. We went across the Continental Divide at about 7500 feet and saw a small amount of snow.

The night spent in the parking lot of a gas station went fine. We were on the road fairly early with Very slow traffic out of the city. Any trip to the city reminds me why I don’t want to live in one. The traffic alone was too much.

My car was towed to a Ford dealership the night before. They say a part is broken that was part of a recall, but my car has too many miles on it to qualify. We piled everything into the truck and camper. It's all a tight fit now. The car remains in Albuquerque and we are not sure what we will do at this point..

The drive today was cool. Lots of amazing scenery. Lots of uphill driving as well, but most of it was on a four-lane highway. The truck handled it well, so I was relieved there.

We went to a place called Newspaper Rock which is in Utah, not far south of Moab…
