Modesty culture was a bad thing, but had as much to do - if not more - with the victorian culture that was handed down, which had nothing whatever to do with christianity

Ive been around churches for 50 years and always thought of purity culture as some extremist cultish type behavior. I have not seen it in mainstream christianity.

I do see it as a bad thing, but i dont buy that it causes men to rape women. Rape has little to do with sex and is all about power..
