Yes, The writer blames society though, and not the criminal. If there were a question as to his guilt I could see the argument, but a straight person who committed that crime would also have been sentenced to death. Homophobia was not the reason for the death sentence.

That was cold-blooded murder. being gay is no defense. He clearly deserves the death penalty. If he gets a new trial he will probably get the same sentence. Sounds like the writer wants to blame society and let him go free.

The writer blames society and i find that very offensive. Thats my take on the debate. The headline is misleading and offensive. This low life sleazeball with no shred of morality put himself on death row, NOT a homophobic court.

Has this scum even apologized to the family? Has he shown any remorse for his awful deed? Has he changed in prison? Has he taken responsibility for his act? Doesn't sound like it. The writer doesn't seem to care about any of that..
