You make a good case. Certainly Jesus (and God the father) were for the poor and oppressed.

But since the time of Jesus, people have tried to make him fit into their ideology - instead of the other way around.

Even in the New Testament, the scribles, pharases and sadducees all wanted Jesus on their side. There were also those that wanted him to lead a rebellion against Rome - which would have been very popular at the time.

Jesus rejected all their attempts to fit him into their plans and ideologies.
